Bandwidth Manager on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

For those of us that started out in the IT world with issues relating to bandwidth usage and limiting, you would find this piece really interesting. Another set of people which this would interest would be mobile phone users with the pay-as-you-go data plan.

Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) allows you to monitor you data (internet access) usage on the file and to know how much of data a running application is currently using.

So in layman’s language, you can see how much internet access you’re using and how much you’ve used over Wi-Fi or cellular network.

Warning levels can also be specified, as well as determining how much background data apps can use.

I find this very fascinating as this would assist mobile phone users manager data usage especially when its being paid for.
