Perhaps you have heard of Stanbic IBTC, perhaps you haven’t. They aren’t the most recognizable Nigeria financial brand but in corporate circles they are pretty much the real deal for project financing and are by far the most ubiquitous Pensions brand.
At the ongoing Social Media Week Lagos events, Stanbic IBTC has been a very visible presence and surprisingly so. They only launched their social profiles on Twitter and Facebook a few weeks ago and compared other established (on social media) competitor brands, they are the only ones who have stepped out to support and share content around Africa’s first Social Media Week event. Huge score!
They seem to have the basics covered with a good Facebook setup and a Twitter profile that’s more interested in engagement than in hoarding followers. Their blog is simple and reads a bit like Ugometrics.com. With their sponsorship of the Business, Innovation and Technology hub of Social Media Week Lagos, they have found an excellent way to blend their swanky brand with the grit of social media.
