[INTERVIEW] Ayo Alli To Unveil Mobile Social Network For Football Fans – Gbamm! At #SMWLagos

Social Media Week Lagos sees the unveiling of Gbamm! – the Mobile Social Network for Football Fans. According to an interview conducted with Founder, Ayo Alli, “Gbamm! is a ‘2nd Screen’ mobile web application for watching English Premier League matches on TV”.

Gbamm! allows users to watch their teams while interacting simultaneously with their favorite commentators and pundits; fact-boxes and bespoke stats; football buddies and friends who support other teams. And they can do this if they can’t watch the match. Definitely of valuable with power outage as a norm.

I ran into Ayo Alli at one of the Social Media Week events and we got talking about Gbamm! – as a product, startup, features, unique selling points, and future plans especially with big data. You can listen to the interview below. [Heads up for background noises especially from 4:30]

Gbamm! enables fans to follow their teams, get the latest news, information and rumours; as well as join peer groups & form their own groups with friends, colleagues & other fans across which they can interact, chat, broadcast messages, share images and much more.

“We are very excited to do the B2B launch of Gbamm! in Lagos at Social Media Week,” says Ayo Alli Founder & CEO of Gbamm!

Although aimed at the global fan-base of the global game, Nigeria is a very important market and incubator for Gbamm!. And not just because of the passion Nigerian fans have for football; Nigeria and Africa are at the forefront of mobile usage, and as such we are developing Gbamm! in Nigeria and Africa to be on the cutting edge. After all, users and usage are key to any successful technology business.
