With the influx of a lot of players into the e-commerce game, one common problem has been the issue of payment – the prevailing payment solution within Nigeria’s e-commerce space is either cash on delivery or payment on delivery. While this model works fine for e-commerce transactions where both buyers and sellers reside in the same state, in cases where both parties can’t meet physically to exchange products for cash, a problem arises.
This is the problem Kaymu aims to solve. In a bid to empower Nigerians through -, Kaymu has just launched a revolutionary payment solution called SafePay.
According to the MD, Lukas Zels, “Kaymu SafePay is a necessary step in the Nigerian e-commerce industry. We introduced Kaymu SafePay to make transactions across Nigeria safe for buyers and sellers. This will create a great environment for trade on our platform, especially for small and specialized sellers with great products who will benefit from the high audience that they can securely sell to now.”
How does SafePay work?
SafePay is an escrow service whereby buyers pay directly to Kaymu for items bought plus the cost of delivery, while sellers have to send the item purchased to the buyer before receiving the money.
In other words, Kaymu stands as a trusted intermediary between buyers and sellers to ensure that both parties enjoy a secure ecommerce transaction. If goods bought are not delivered to the buyer or don’t meet the expected conditions as displayed online, Kaymu refunds the money paid to the buyer and the seller gets their goods back from the buyer.
