Nigeria Com 2012 Presents The Inaugural APPGIG For Developers

One thing that will be new at Nigeria Com this year will be APPGIG, a series of dedicated workshops and interactive sessions enabling developers in Africa to find out about innovative business models, interesting development ideas, related technologies, new trends in this ecosystem, and more.

Professional, experienced and engaging speakers from the fields of apps development, mobile communications, content production, handset manufacturing and other players will present on the hot topics in the market and will interactively answer surrounding questions from the participating audience.

APPGIG is free to attend for all independent African app developers and coders. APPGIG is co-located with Nigeria Com, the continent’s leading telecoms, ICT and media event, and the only regional event dedicated to the entire digital ecosystem.

What’s In Store For Developers?

Nigeria is the perfect market for Apps, especially considering the active user base and growth rates exceed those from the western markets. For developers, creative strategies are king in order to attract new consumers – plus, innovative business models will be a must to ensure a viable regional ecosystem, and in order to monetise the significant momentum in the app market.

Overall, by enhancing discovery, improving user experience, dropping price barriers, and increasing developer revenue share, the apps ecosystem can really take off

The APPGIG looks to bring together the whole ecosystem: this developer event will bring the Apps ecosystem to the same forum as Nigeria Com, which gathers leading telecoms (operator) and media players (content providers/brand). In fact the event can be considered to be run by developers for developers as it will feature workshops and presentations from experienced coders and developers, actively creating in Africa.

Moreover the goal is to empower developers in Africa, enabling them to find out about innovative business models, interesting development ideas, new trends in this ecosystem, related technologies, and more. It also creates room to partner with grass root ‘app-trepreneurs’ & developer community leaders.

How about jobs opportunities? The APPGIG is a recruiting platform for developers in Africa as the Com World Series team are experienced and have insight into the developer world. One can not overlook the chance to network for success with the rich contacts reaching out to app developers across Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and more.
