On Friday, 15 November 2013, Microsoft unveiled Aiki Nigeria – an online employability programme at a cocktail event held at The Civic Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event which was hosted by On-Air Personality Toke Makinwa and comedian Owen Gee had in attendance the CEO of JK Pharmaceuticals; Jimi Agbaje, Microsoft’s director for developer platforms, Sub Saharan Africa; Dele Akinsade, and Director – Youth Enablement – 4Afrika Initiatives at Microsoft; Patrick Onwumere.
Also in attendance was Musician; Timi Dakolo, Saxophonist; Mike Aremu, Actress; Ufuoma Mcdermott, Fashion Designer; Mai Atafo, Kimberly Ryan’s General Manager; Isoken Okusami, Advocate; Kathleen Ndongmo, and Microsoft Sr. Partner Sales Executive; Lolita Aguele .
Aiki as described on the official twitter handle of the initiative is a Nigerian online employability portal but contrary to the first tweet off the handle, the site is yet to go live. We’d keep tabs on the platform but until then, enjoy the launch event photos.
