Maliyo Games Releases Naija Hoops To Support D’Tigers At The London Olympics

It is the first time ever D’Tigers – i.e. Nigeria’s basketball national team is at to the Olympics – a big deal, and folks at Maliyo Games – a Nigerian company focussed on creating games with African narratives, have created a game to support them.

The game is called Naija Hoops and is a simple pick and shoot game, where you grabbed the ball with your mouse and drag to throw into the net. Well it’s pretty simple if you play on default, as the game comes with some tune ups options that’d separate amateurs from pros.

It does however come with some options like turning ‘off’ and ‘on’ the Auto-Aim feature. There’s also the Keep Ball on Stages option and my favourite – Difficulty meter, all on the top left corner of the game screen. On the right top corner is the score board that gives a 60 seconds count down (starting from first contact the ball makes with the hoop – whether in or out).

Get a shot right and get yourself 2 points. Remember all you have is 60 seconds, and if you getting all the shots right, you  may want to take up difficulty gauge another notch. What are you waiting for? You can play the game here, and don’t forget to share you score on Twitter and Facebook as well as invite you friends.

Go! Go! Go! D’Tigers of Nigeria. Good luck to all the teams at the London Olympics.
