Mobile is causing some disruption in web business. There are businesses whose future is threatened unless they can figure a profitable mobile strategy to implement. Facebook has seen an increase in the number of people that are using mobile to post their status and use Facebook in general.
It is an issue for Facebook since they have not cracked how to serve ads in a convenient and non intrusive way on mobile devices.
Google keeps working to improve the experience people have with Google Plus on mobile. Not too long ago, they upgraded the Google plus for mobile on iPhone. It was a welcome upgrade that brought about a better and improve mobile experience for users of iPhone.
Google has not started monetising Google plus yet, not even on the web. There’s a great white space that is available by the right. Some folks have mentioned that Google may be reserving it for ads. Google still needs to make Google plus appeal to more people. Will this few updates make more people move to Google plus? may be in areas where Android and iPhones are very popular.
Google’s message to you;
We think you’ll find today’s app nicer to look at, but we’re also making it easier to use. Improvements include:
- A navigation ribbon that slides in and out, providing quick access to just about everything
- The ability to download photos directly from Google+, and turn them into wallpaper
- The chance to edit posts inline, in case you make any mistakes while on the go

With respect to Nigeria, Most smartphone users are using Blackberry and their’s no Google Plus app for Blackberry. When Google is ready to reach the larger group of smartphone users in Nigeria, they will have a Blackberry app.
To the few folks who have Android phone–most are geeks and developers–you can go to Google Play and update your Google Plus and enjoy a better, sleeker experience like the iPhone users.
