#freeandopen: Google’s Call For Free And Open Web

Starting today, the world’s governments meet behind closed doors on the future of the Internet. Some governments want to increase censorship and regulate the web.

Google is one company that thrives on Open Web, and is at the fore front of fight for it to stay that way. In its #freeandopen campaign, it’s collecting signatures online for a petition against censored or regulated web: http://goo.gl/lyAoE

I have signed up since I do believe in a free and open world and in turn a free and open world, and so have 2,908,434 at the time of writing. The sponsored Facebook update at this time has also attracted 181,660 Likes, 10,860 comments, and shared 22,992 times.

So join the party and sign up. You can see others that signed up near you or around the world on the Google Map driven page.
