Following in the footstep of Afrinolly, the app that originated from and won the Google Developer challenge in 2011, Form+ emerged as the winner of the Google Apps Developer Challenge for Enterprise/Small Business Solutions category in Sub-Saharan Africa on the 21st of November, 2012.
This winning application, Form+, provides an interface to create application forms by just dragging and dropping components. The user can create forms, such as CVs or résumé, submission forms for businesses, and coursework submission pages for lecturers, that were previously not supported by the Google Docs platform.
Form+ was developed by three University of Lagos undergraduates – Bolutife Ogunsola, Michael Adeyeri and Willie Aniebiet, who are one of the three teams across the world made up of only students; there were 15 winners in total. They received Chromebooks and $20,000 collectively and as students of tertiary institutions, they also won an additional grant worth $18,000 for their school’s department.
The aim of the Google Developer challenge competition was to give software developers in Africa and across the globe an opportunity to show the world what they can do with the Google Apps and Google Drive platforms. Submissions were in the following categories:
- Enterprise/Small Business Solutions
- Social/Personal Productivity/Games/Fun
- Not-for-Profit: Education/Water/Food & Hunger/Health
