Just when I thought the mobile industry had wrapped up for 2012, Samsung, on the 13th of December, unveiled the Galaxy Camera and Samsung Galaxy SIII mini at a breakfast with ladies and gentlemen of the press.
Galaxy Camera
The Galaxy Camera is coming with Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) OS and connects directly to 3G and Wifi networks, revolutionizing the way digital camera content is created and shared. It also comes with cloud support and group sharing apps, variable camera lenses and photo settings, editing tools and visual effects, full high definition video with slow-motion capability and a huge 4.8” high definition super clear touch display to view, edit and enjoy the images captured or recorded.
The camera allows social features like Skype, Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, Linkedin, Instagram, and others with a great Graphic User Interface (GUI). The only mobile phone service it can’t provide is the voice call, but Skype video call is enabled. It has 16 mega pixel camera with 21mm zoom, 4GB in-built memory and up to 64GB external microSD card space.
While chatting with Oyakanmi Bolade, Digital & Content Specialist, Samsung Electronics West Africa, I was made to understand that Samsung is not launching these to compete with other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), rather, this is their innovative way of staying on top of the market chart in the coming year, 2013. He explained further that Samsung won’t stop releasing leading products to remain the market’s number one choice.
Galaxy SIII Mini
The SIII mini is the sexy, handy and pocket sized version of Samsung Galaxy SIII. This reformed version of the SIII comes with a 4.0″ HD screen and will also have Jelly Bean, NFC and other features of SIII with a more pocket friendly price (between N62,000 to N68,000 according to Bolade)
