Channels TV reports that the Nigerians Customs service have apprehended a cybercrime syndicate. They were rounded up for creating bogus websites that purport to offer job vacancies in the Customs service. According to the report, quite a few people have been bilked by the bogus setup.
In a statement to the press, a customs official said — and I kid you not — that to catch the perpetrators, they had to deploy cutting edge computer technology, deploy forensic expertise, as well as collaborate with Canadian law enforcement — all to nab a bunch of website spoofers. Totally badass stuff, I tell you. I guess this puts them right up there with CSI.
