Remember Beni American University – BAU? The brain child of the young Nigerian, Gossy Ukanwoke – Founder of Student Circle, is finally ready to disrupt education in Africa, starting with Nigeria. Perhaps his mission to educate African youths, while overcoming the problem of accessibility and affordability, can now be accomplished.
BAU has gone from partnering with Pulse for low-cost android tablets to collaborating with the Center for Entrepreneurship, Atlanta Metropolitan State College, and most recently JSTOR for academic content and other resource. The hybrid university although not active has a number of bragging rights and thing are about to get even better, as it sets to launch.
This Launch event will be scheduled to go live during the 3rd Annual Education Network Conference (EduNet 2012), themed: Research and Education Networks (RENs) in Nigeria: Opportunities and Challenges.
The launch is where BAU gets to:
1. Officially announce a kickoff
2. Answer the most pressing questions
3. Offer on-spot recruitment interviews
4. Share informational and promotional content
BAU is also making provisions for those who cannot attend physically, as the event will be streamed live via a dedicated page on thier website. You can also register for the event.
