biNu, an app platform that runs on a wide range of mass-market mobile phones, providing super-fast and affordable access to web-based apps and popular internet services, has announced their partnership with Etisalat. This will give more that 15 million subscribers an affordable way to instantly discover, use and switch between services, change to local languages and translate almost anything on the fly, without having to download and install separate apps.
biNU is one of the fastest growing mobile apps in Africa with extensive breath of services, such as Facebook, books, news, and weather. It also includes the ability to share photos and messages with other biNu users as well as non-biNu users in Nigeria and around the world.
According to Jeremy George, the biNu VP for Africa, biNu currently has more than 5 million users globally and 400,000 users from Nigeria without any marketing. Users can buy books with biNu credit which could be purchased by sms from Etisalat premium users. The application is available for feature phones (J2ME) and Android which are 90% of the market share.
Etisalat’s special biNu subscription will be available at the end of May and will be available to all Etisalat prepaid subscribers.
