It all started from a tweet that went out of the Federal Road Safety Commission’s twitter handle – @FRSCNigeria, about a ‘full loaded’ BRT bus that fell off the 3rd Mainland bridge. One would assume the intention was to warn motorist and appear proactive as the tweet ended with ‘Rescue work in progress. Motorist be cautious‘.
In little or no time, the message found its way to BlackBerry Public Messages but this time around ending with smiling, laughing, and ROTFL emoticons. Well, one could only assume it was untrue or everybody just found something very hiliarious of a full loaded bus falling into the lagoon on a Monday morning.
Perhaps the former, as since then the tweet has been deleted from @FRSCNigeria twitter feed. One can only wonder, what just happened. Maybe another angry worker at the FRSC, just like the one that went off the rails with ThisDay’s twitter account in February, 2012?
Updated: The FRSC tweets the information was not confirmed and should be disregarded, even though it was tweeted and not ‘retweeted’ as claimed.
