After a handful of entries, five have been selected as a finalist for the App Developer Competition at Mobile Web West Africa 2013.
They will be presenting on Day 2 – Thursday, May 9, and you get the chance to know more about them, as well as ask question. Until then, here’s a brief on all 5 App developers and what they will be presenting:
Rodney Jackson-Cole, TaxiPark Nigeria
TaxiPark allows you to book a taxi ride, wherever you are, directly from your computer or mobile phone (well, in Lagos for now, of course). No more phone calls. No more flagging down taxis on the highway or looking for the closest taxi park to you. More at taxipark.com.ng

P2MU is a recommendation Based social network application that helps you find and connect with new persons of interest to you. Genii Games is the parent entity behind Àsà; a range of mobile applications aimed at promoting and preserving the African culture in its richness. There is a growing collection of apps that span across various aspects of the African culture including languages, folktales, etiquette etc. More at geniigames.com
Ayoola Ajebeku, Nearest Locator
A location based mobile app that helps you easily and accurately find nearest places to you; places like: ATMs, Banks, Eateries, Hospitals, Pharmacies, Police Stations, Events and Promos/deals etc., closest to you, with their detailed information like contact info and location on map. These developers turned founders will have 3 minutes each to present their apps. Presentations are to include PowerPoint and embedded video only. Unfortunately, they cannot present a live view of the app in operation as there are often technical difficulties involved in projecting this for the audience on the presentation screens.
So make it a date at Mobile Web West Africa – Day 2 on May 9 at the Four Point hotel.
