Google has added more Nigeria mobile operators to Gmail chat. The service previously supports only Glo and Starcomms but Airtel, MTN and Visafone networks have just been added to the service.
The Gmail SMS Chat lets you easily send text messages to mobile phones direct from your Gmail account and also receive messages from mobile phones. Initially, you’re granted a credit of fifty messages and every time you receive an SMS message in Chat (for example when a phone user replies to one of your messages) your credit increases by five, up to a maximum of 50.
I know you are already wondering how you can increase your SMS credits legitimately? It is very simple. You only need to send an SMS to your own MSISDN, and then reply to that message multiple times. As mentioned earlier, every time you send a reply message, your SMS credit is increased by five. The implication is that you are paying for the increased SMS credit with your airtime being used to send reply to the SMSes you receive on your phone.
