NigeriaCom And APPGIG: The Recap

26th of September, 2012 was big day in Nigeria tech industry as the Day 1 of 3rd Annual Nigeria Com conference and exhibition went down at Eko Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. The event was very informative as leaders from the Nigeria’s major operators, service providers, OTT Players, vendors and more gathered to discuss the opportunities in Africa’s largest communications market.

Innovation, new revenues streams, smartphone developments and the role of OTT players were among the topics discussed in the opening keynote – with speakers from Etisalat, Visafone, Google, MTN, Anabel Group among others.

“Our objective with NigeriaCom is to engage all stakeholders in the market to meet and discuss how to make the most of new market trends and opportunities; we are pleased with the level and diversity of attendance this year” says Julie Rey, Research Director at Informa Telecoms & Media, the organizer of the conference.

The networking section was wonderful as we had chance to talk to some guys in the mobile industry which include – 2go’s Business Development Manager, Peter Lockhart, Catherine Luckhoff and Celestine Ukpere from Bozza and CEO and Founder of Eskimi Vytautas Paukstys and they answered some of your burning questions which we ‘ll be sharing with you soon.

Day 2 of the event was more informative for mobile and web developers as APPGIG, sponsored by BlackBerry, gave developers access to chat with Peter Lockhart, Business Development Manager at 2go, Emmanuel Oluwatosin, Co-Founder at Mobile Monday Nigeria and Ajibola Aiyedogbon Develper of mycash which was moderated by Bosun Tijani, CEO of Co-Creation hub.
