#MWWA2013: Stop Reading Foreign Tech Blogs!

Mobile Web West Africa is known as the event that brings the minds behind great technology companies together. Gathering core staff from Etisalat, iRoko, Airtel, iROKING, Vconnect, Qualcomm and Thomson Reuters in one room to discuss the past and future of mobile web is no easy feat and I give it to Matthew and Andrew of Allambers for organizing such an event.

The morning started with opening remarks by Yomi Adegboye, founder of Mobility. All the sessions went as arranged on the programme and you can catch up on the highlights by following #MWWA2013 or on OTEKBITS’ live blog.

One memorable moment was when someone from the audience asked Michael Ugwu (mriROKING) how they accomplished what they have in a short time. He replied by saying startup founders should stop reading foreign tech blogs and focus on local blogs to learn how business is done locally and learn from the failure of people in the front.

The day ended with a networking drinks reception sponsored by Etisalat. The OTEKBITS team will be on ground for Day 2 of the event.
