Maliyo Games Go Mobile With Okada Ride, Now On Nokia Store

Maliyo Games launched with 6 game titles, but it only could be enjoyed on the web browsers. It now has ten web titles, and that did not cater for the mobile users until now. Africa happens to be a continent with about 80% accessing the internet via mobile, so it was imperative for the web browser games to be converted to mobile.

Game Description: Drive on the busy Lagos roads but you have to get to your office quickly. Strap on a helmet, hop on an Okada and pass a shortcut. There are numerous obstacles such as pedestrians, hawkers, road barriers and law enforcement agents in your way. Try to get to your destination as quickly as possible and without hitting the obstacles in your path.

This happens to be the 2nd platform for churning out games by the Nigerian based game company, as plans are in place to build Facebook app version of the games with African narratives. The company is currently gearing to showcase its games at the Mobile Entertainment Africa in South Africa, as well creative narratives for other African countries, starting with South Africa and Kenya.

Other interesting games on the web and mobile space right now are Monkey Run from Kuluya.com and Danfo Reloaded from Pledge51. It’s sure signs that the local content market especially the gaming turf which is quite new is getting a good reception.

You can download and play Okada Ride game from Nokia Ovi store for free here.
