Lagos Angel Investors Revealed And More From LAN Pitchday

The Lagos Angel Network invited seven of Nigeria’s finest startups for a pitching session today at Digital Bridge Institute, Lagos Campus, Oshodi, getting us closer to knowing what they intend to do with their bags of money. The morning started around 11:15am, due to some difficulty in finding the venue, with the startups presenting their ideas and answering questions from a panel.

The founders of Pledge51 gave the first presentation of the day, introducing Chopup, a social game platform that allows players to interact based on in-game achievements. They were followed by the Skin it team that presented their gadget customization solution. Next up were CashEnvoy, a web application that aids the transfer of money from person-to-merchant; Gigalayer, a web hosting company with big plans to change the face of web hosting in Africa; and the BookNowNow team, an online reservation service that allows people to book event venues, restaurants and hotels.

The afternoon session began immediately after with the Ideacentric team presenting Nigeria’s next smartphone device called Nerve. And as Tomi Davies said, the best was saved for last – Jandus Radio was called on to present their mobile application, a radio directory app focusing on increasing listening audience of African traditional radio.
