Early this week, Nokia Nigeria joined the Nokia global team to welcome Asha 205 and 206 to Nokia Asha family. This was celebrated in an event hosted by James Rutherfoord, Vice President Nokia West and Central Africa.
What they got?
Recently, I wrote about my experience with the Asha range. Here is more amazing news of the power of Asha 206 and 205 – with less than $100 market, Nokia intends to recover the massive market with both devices currently available in single and dual SIM variants. Asha 206 features an alphanumeric keypad and has a very solid build with a 2.4 inch display, 1.3 megapixel camera, and slick Nokia Express browser. Users can also share music, videos and photos with the use of Slam technology on the device.
Slam ditches the ‘search, pair and send’ method seen in traditional bluetooth sharing and simply sends the files to the closest mobile phone with Bluetooth on. Asha 205, on the other hand, comes with QWERTY keyboard, 2.4 inch display and 0.3 megapixel camera. The microSD card external storage option allows up to 32GB. Nokia has estimated the phone’s battery to be 608 hours, with a talk time of 11hours.
The phone supports webmail for Hotmail, Yahoo mail and Gmail along with protocols like SMTP, IMAP and POP3. Asha 205 supports 2G networks and also features Nokia’s Easy Swap technology (this comes with Nokia Express browser) and Slam technology for sharing music, videos and photos.
We will be having a wide coverage of the devices here on OTEKBITS.com. Watch this space.
