Last time we checked it was 7 million, but today Eskimi – the mobile social network is celebrating a milestone of hitting the 10 million members mark. Largest market in Eskimi customer base still remains Nigeria with more than 5 million members from this country alone.
According to Vytas Paukstys, CEO of Eskimi, the team has been working hard all 2012 to develop the best possible mobile experience for African customers to spend time, have fun, meet new people online and socialize with them.
Eskimi was recognized as 2nd largest mobile destination in Nigeria by Opera mini, which is the most popular browser in Africa. Eskimi has succeeded to grow the member base and keep the main metrics at a high level. On average Eskimi customers spend 6,5 hours online per month.
Eskimi team also continued to revolutionize mobile marketing launching unique branding, sales promotion, performance and crowd-sourcing campaigns for its clients. Reputable brands in Nigeria (including DealDey, Dettol, and Indomie) and Kenya started using Eskimi as their platform in 2012 and will continue to do so in 2013.
On a continent where mobile is used by 80% of the internet users and mobile is 5 times bigger than the traditional internet, one can only see Eskimi growing in numbers, and a very appreciative Eskimi team says a big thank you to all that took them pass the 10 million mark.
