Tech-In–Governance is a 48-hour gathering of ideas, people and digital tools aimed at creating novel web & mobile solutions to transform citizen participation in governance in Nigeria run by the Co-Creation Hub
What is BudgIT?
BudgIT is a technology start-up aimed at ensuring Nigerian are better informed on how people in government allocate and spend public funds. The company has identified the Nigerian Budget as a platform to unravel and therefore resolve to present the budget figures in a more user friendly, accessible and understandable format through mobile phones and the internet. The company believes that making the budget a more friendly tool is critical to benchmark governance, understand government’s allocation to specific sectors, enable citizen to monitor and actively engage in discussions to enhance the budget process and its attendant effects on the citizenry.
The Launch Event:
The launch event will take place at the Co-Creation Hub, 6th Floor, 294, Herbert Macaulay Way, Sabo, Yaba Lagos at 4pm on Monday, 12 September 2011.
