On October 5, 2012, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), the apex regulatory body of Human Resources practice in Nigeria, honoured Airtel Nigeria with the Best Human Resources Practices award within the telecommunications sector.
This award was given based on a comprehensive and independent audit of major GSM/telecom operators in Nigeria conducted by CIPM. The award was presented to an Airtel team, comprising of the Human Resources Director, Jubril Saba, Head – Shared Services, Tunde Oginni, and Head – HR Operations and Analysis, Otu Umoren, during the on-going 44th annual CIPM conference that held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
In the course of the event, Airtel Nigeria was commended for complying with Global Human Resource Standards and for following best practices in its employee relations.
Speaking on the award, Airtel’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Rajan Swaroop, dedicated the Award to the company’s staff, saying the recognition is a testimony to the dedication and good work of employees within the organization.

The CIPM was established in 1968 to regulate the practice of Human Resource Management in Nigeria and promote excellence in the acquisition and application of knowledge and skills by practitioners, thereby contributing to sustainable national development.
