Here are some news update from All Amber for the next big mobile conference on the African continent – Mobile East Africa 2014. Back for a fourth year (time certainly flies), Mobile East Africa 2014 is going to be running on the 12th and 13th February 2014 in Nairobi, Kenya.
But what’s in store?
Here’s a quick rundown on why Mobile East Africa 2014 is going to be a tremendous few days of conferencing:
Tomi Ahonen, the man measured by Forbes as the world’s most influential expert in mobile, is coming. He’s going to be presenting an hour-long special address and will also deliver a full day workshop on Friday the 14th. It’s his first time in Kenya, he’s extremely pleased to be coming, and if you don’t know who he is or you haven’t heard him present then I can assure you that he is quite simply exceptional – both in terms of content and style. Is there a better speaker on mobile in the world? You’d be hard pressed to find one..
Who else is contributing?
Andrew Waititu, Managing Director for East Africa at SAP, is fully confirmed alongside Jose Henriques, Group VP Data at Airtel Africa, for the “Leaders of Mobile” session, which is going to kick off the first morning.
Algy Williams, whose company Every1Mobile is regarded as leading the development of mobile media, is also confirmed.
Robert Lamptey (CEO of Saya) is going to be coming over from Ghana; he absolutely rocked our last event in Lagos. Not one to be missed.
And that’s combined with the likes of Nanjira Sambuli (iHub Research), Samuel Majani (the man behind Ghafla!), Mark Kaigwa (needs no introduction) and senior representatives from IBM, Google and Safaricom.
They’re going to be joined by a whole host of other key individuals who are at the forefront of mobile tech development.
What are we going to be talking about?
The focus for 2014 is “expanding mobile data usage & driving monetisation through industry collaboration” so the plan is to bring all the key stakeholder groups together and deliver an in-depth, high quality, interactive event that is going to have super networking (as ever), high tempo presentations, penetrating panel discussions and a few “on-the-money” debates. There is going to be a huge amount for you and your organisation to benefit from.
What else?
Having packed a conference room to brimming point last time round there is no option but to run the Mobile Marketing East Africa Focus Day again on Tuesday 11th February.
Now that you’re aware of why you need to have the 11th through to the 14th of February clearly marked as “Mobile East Africa 2014” in your calendar, the next step is for you to register.
As always, there are some excellent discounts available for attendees who book on early, so feel free to take advantage and register your place for the event as soon as possible. In addition, capacity at the Southern Sun is limited to 200 so space is going to get tight.
